House & Recognition
Our Houses
Our House system is designed to incorporate our Academy values – enjoy, respect, achieve – into everything we do, including developing a sense of House identify.
All staff and students are assigned their House when they join the Academy. For new Year 7s, it is like the Harry Potter sorting hat; they complete a short quiz about themselves and join the House which is closely related to their qualities.
Each House has staff captains, and student deputy captains – together they motivate students and staff to take part in inter-house competitions throughout the year, gaining House points along the way.

House Christmas Lunch
For the first time at City Academy Norwich, in December 2019, we hosted a Christmas lunch for each House across three days. The atrium became a Christmas themed restaurant, and all students were served lunch by Mr Collin and his senior team, plus our administration staff. Teachers and House Champions joined the students to pull crackers, and sing Christmas songs.
